Kashmiri MBBS student still untraceable

Bhubaneswar: The whereabouts of Kashmiri student Suhail Aijaz who was pursuing MBBS at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar are still unknown even as 21 days have elapsed since he went missing.

Meanwhile, the three-member Commissionerate police team that had gone to Kolkata for investigation has returned clueless and empty-handed.

Speaking to mediapersons, DCP Satyabrata Bhoi on Saturday said, “Till now we are unable to track the student. We have questioned people and scanned the CCTV footage of the areas and we are in regular touch with the Kolkata police and other agencies.”

He also informed that city police are regularly in contact with the police stations in other States, AIIMS authorities here as well his family members. Intensive efforts are on by the city police to trace him out but in vain.

Suhail hailing from Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir left his hostel on February 9 and has been missing since then. The GPS details of the phone revealed his last location was Howrah in West Bengal on February 10, where his phone was switched off.

Meanwhile, Suhail’s brother and mother made an emotional appeal to him through social media to return home.
