Bhubaneswar: Utsha Foundation For Contemporary Art, Bhubaneswar is hosting ‘Kala Setu – The Bridge of Arts’ as part of the Raza Samvad in collaboration with The Raza Foundation from March 11 to April 8, 2017. The inauguration will be hosted at IDCOl Bhavan at 6 pm on March 11.
Kala Setu will be inaugurated in the presence of luminaries like eminent poet and executive trustee of Raza Foundatio, Ashok Vajpeyi and poet, cultural theorist and curator Ranjit Hoskote, also the keynote speakers for the inaugural ceremony.
Vajpeyi is a legendary figure in literature and is also known for setting up multi-arts centre Bharat Bhawan in Bhopal. He was closely associated with legendary artist SH Raza and at present is the Executive Trustee of the Raza Foundation.
Ranjit is a leading Indian poet, well known as a strong defender of cultural freedoms and has contributed much as a curator and art critic.
Kala Setu is a unique creative experiment in exploring visual concepts from other disciplines of art. Eight artists from across the country will collaborate with four experts in different fields of art from Odisha to create a work of art. The four experts are Odissi guru Aruna Mohanty, classical vocalist Sangita Gosain, litterateur Sangram Jena and theatre personality Dolagobinda Rath will also give talks during sessions on March 14 and 15.
The art work created during Kala Setu will be exhibited from 5 pm on April 8 at Utsha Foundation.
