Bhubaneswar: Justice Kalpesh Satyendra Jhaveri will take oath as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on Sunday.
Governor Ganeshi Lal will administer the oath of the office and secrecy to the Chief Justice on the high court premises at 4 pm.
Justice Jhaveri was a judge of Rajasthan High Court before being appointed as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
The post of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court fell vacant earlier this week after incumbent Justice Vineet Saran was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court.
The Centre on Friday had notified the appointment of Justice Jhaveri as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Justice Jhaveri was elevated as a judge of the Gujarat High Court in March, 2004, and was confirmed as a permanent judge in June 2005. He was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court in August, 2016, and will now take charge as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
