Kolkata: Calcutta High Court Judge Justice CS Karnan ‘summoned’ the Chief Justice of India and six judges on Thursday. He said they should appear before him to face proceedings for “wantonly and deliberately” insulting him in a Supreme Court hearing last month.
Justice Karnan said he was “wantonly, deliberately and with malafide intention” insulted by making an ‘order’ public in a press conference with the Chief Justice of India raising a question about his mental health. He accused the CJI and six other judges of violating the Scheduled Caste Prevention of Atrocities Act in which he wants them to defend themselves in his “residential court” in Kolkata on April 28, three days the hearing of contempt case against him.
The Supreme Court has not allowed the 61 year old judge to hear cases after initiating the contempt case for bringing allegations against top judges without evidence.
