Cuttack: The spread of jaundice is going out of control in the city with 31 testing positive on Friday. Some cases of the disease were spotted in January and it has only been rising since.
In January 39 cases were tested positive while in February alone there were 82 cases reported and so far in March already 46 cases have been confirmed.
In many parts of the city the reason behind the spread of the disease is lack of septic tanks and flow of toilet waste to drainage directly. This is leading to water contamination. The disease was first spotted in Jobra and has now affected Tulasipur area.
