Puri: World famous sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarshan Pattnaik has been felicitated on the golden beach of Puri by the Consul-General of Japan in Kolkata, Masayuki Taga today.
Sudarshan was honoured for exquisite depiction of sand art here promoting 2017, as has been officially declared by both the governments, the Year of Friendly Exchanges between Japan and India. International tourism ambassador of Kyoto city, Japan, Kunna Dash along with more than 40 numbers of Japanese artists and delegates were also present during felicitation.
The official logo for the year has been adopted by both the countries depicting (j) for Japan & (i) for India. The logo, being in the centre cordoned by respective National Flags of both the countries along with a symbolic shake hand of friendly gesture, has been well portrayed to mark the distinctive celebration of the event. Through this four-days-long celebration of ‘ Japan Festival and Puri Rock Fest 2017’, Indo-Japan friendly exchanges shall surely reach a new height forming distinctive mile-stones across both the countries.
