Mumbai: The makers of Hindi remake of Kannada blockbuster ‘Kirik Party’ have now signed Race 3 actress Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead opposite Kartik Aryan.
According to sources, producer Ajay Kapoor has confirmed the news and said, “We are excited to have Jacqueline on board. She is someone the youth relates to and has amazing screen presence.”
This is for the first time when Jacqueline and Kartik will share the screen.
The flick will be directed by National Award-winning director Abhisekh Jain and will be produced by Dheeraj Wadhwan, Ajay Kapoor and Vrithika Laykar.
The remake will go on the floors on October. The movie is all about how friendship and love can turn a boy into a compassionate man.
The original film Kirik Party is one of the highest grossing Kannada film all time and celebrated a successful run of 150-days in over 15 theatres. It stars Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde in lead roles. Later, the film was also remade in Telugu as ‘Kirrak Party’.
Jacqueline will also be seen in an upcoming Hollywood-remake named ‘Drive’ with Sushant Singh Rajput slated to releasing September 7.
The Indian action drama film is a remake of a Hollywood film of the same name starring Ryan Gosling. It is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar.
Besides, the ‘Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety‘ actor is currently working for his upcoming flick ‘Luka Chuppi’ with Bollywood beauty Kriti Sanon. Kartik will also be seen in an upcoming short film Silvat with Meher Mistry. It looks like the actor has bagged many films after his successful hit this February.
