ITER fake placement scam: State Govt is shielding culprits, says Students’ Cong
Bhubaneswar: The Students’ Congress on Tuesday questioned the State Government’s motive for dragging its feet on taking action against the main accused of the ITER fake placement scam.
Students’ Congress activists at a Press meet here demanded immediate arrest of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University founder Manoj Ranjan Nayak.
They accused the Government of not being serious and not taking any quick and decision regarding the fake placements at the ITER College operating under the aegis of SOA University which is affecting the career of hundreds of students.
Students’ Congress State president Itish Pradhan said the Government has remained silent over the issue and questioned why Nayak has not been arrested claiming that the Government is trying to shield him.
“Till now, police have only detained ITER Placement Dean Raj Kumar Hota and dubious placement consultant Manas Nayak. We demand immediate arrest of the founder of ITER College,” said Pradhan.
The Student Congress members also threatened to gherao the Police Commissionerate on June 23 if their demands are not fulfilled.
