ISIS threat to Taj Mahal


New Delhi: The security around India’s iconic – the 17th century monument of love Taj Mahal was tightened on Friday following threats from the dreaded terror out Islamic State.

As per sources, patrolling around the Yamuna river bank was increased and the police mounted extra vigil after a website claiming allegiance to ISIS threatened to target the Taj Mahal.

The information was passed onto the police and intelligence agencies on Thursday after which several teams combed the area and stepped up vigil.

The world heritage monument is visited by over six million tourists annually.
