Bhubaneswar: The Indian Oil Corporation has placed the distributorship of a person under suspension in Kendrapara district following allegations of irregularities in the process of providing LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
The distributorship of M/s. Rajnagar Indane in Kendrapara district has been suspended. The move came after the irregularities were reported in an article published in the newspapers recently.
According to the media report, the LPG distributor allegedly provided LPG connections under PMUY to ineligible beneficiaries. Based on the report, a committee comprising of all the three oil marketing companies was formed to urgently investigate the allegations.
The committee has started an investigation and as per preliminary findings, serious irregularity appeared to have been committed by the distributorship in the release of PMUY connections.
Accordingly, Indian Oil has immediately placed the distributorship under suspension and is making alternate arrangements for serving the customers of the distributorship.
