New Delhi: Intex has launched its first 4G VoLTE feature phone ‘Intex Turbo +4G’ as part of its feature phone series ‘Navratna’. The series include one 4G VoLTE model and eight 2G models in the price range of Rs 700-Rs 1500. Intex Turbo+ 4G has a 2.4-inch QVGA display, and runs on KaiOS software.
The series was launched in India through a press meet, offering the masses of India the “Right Product at the Right Price.”
Commenting on the launch of the Navratna series, Ms Ishita Bansal, Product Head – Mobiles, Intex Technologies said, “Commemorating our 71st Independence Day, we wanted to upgrade feature phone users and give them the taste of a smart phone through our first Smart Feature Phone – the Turbo+ 4G. With this, feature phone users will get high voice call quality, a seamless experience of the internet and the power of connecting with the world through a mobile.”
The phone will directly compete with Reliance JioPhone in the Indian market, which comes with similar specifications and features. However, the JioPhone is priced cheaper, being effectively free at Rs 1,500 deposit for three years. The smart feature phone is aiming to disrupt the feature phone market in the country and post the arrival of JioPhone, there are expected to be multiple other 4G feature phone launches in India.
