India restrict Bangladesh to 173 as Jadeja scalps 4 on his return
Dubai: Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball picking four wickets as India bowled out Bangladesh for 173 in the Super Four clash of Asia Cup 2018 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
India got off to a strong start with the ball after winning the toss. Bowlers dominate again, but a 66 run eighth wicket stand between Mashrafe Mortaza and Mehedi Hasan took Bangladesh to 173. Bangladesh were all out for 173 in the 49.1 overs, setting a meagre target of 174 for India to win.
Seamers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah took care of both the openers quickly. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim tried to rebuild Bangladesh’s innings but Ravindra Jadeja dismissed the former in his first over since return.
Jadeja then dismissed both Mohammad Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim to dismantle Bangladesh’s middle order. Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain added 36 runs together before Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja dismissed the two batsmen.
Skipper Mashrafe Mortaza combined with Mehidy Hasan to add 66 runs together before Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar cleaned up the house in death overs.
