Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cricket team Captain Govinda Poddar has reserved a place in the list of India Red team for the forthcoming Deodhar Trophy.
Poddar would play in the tournament under the captaincy of Wicket keeper cum batsman Parthiv Patel. The India Red team will face India Blue and Vijay Hazare trophy winners team Tamil Nadu in three-team based competition.
On the other hand, India Blue team will be led by star batsman Rohit Sharma. The 50-over long domestic cricket tournament will commence from March 25 to 29 at Vizag.
Govind Poddar, a resident of Rourkela, scored 471 runs in nine matches in the ongoing Ranji trophy season which included 2 half centuries and a century.
Similarly, he scored 359 runs in 6 matches with 2 centuries and 2 half centuries in the recently ended Vijay Hazare Trophy.
