Dharmasala: After much of controversies, Team India proved themselves by an eight wicket win over Australia in the fourth and final test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy held here in the town. With this victory the host team has also won the series 2-1 against Australia.
Chasing 106 runs as the winning target, opener KL Rahul scored his seventh fifty as India reached the target in less than a session and remained 51 not out. Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored a quick-fire 38 off 27 balls and ended at 106 for two. It took only 23.5 overs for the team to take the game by eight wickets and win the four-Test series.
Ravindra Jadeja is the Man of the series and the Man of the Match.
Jadeja, fellow spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and pace bowler Umesh Yadav took three wickets apiece as Australia were bowled out for 137 in 53.5 overs.
