Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted incessant rain, which is likely to mar the festive mood during Dussehra this year.
As per the MeT office prediction, the cyclonic circulation developed over Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify gradually after hitting the Andhra Pradesh coast by September 27. Later, it is expected to form into a low pressure, following which Odisha may experience continuous rainfall in its southern, northern and coastal parts.
The MeT predicted that the rains may continue till October 1, the day of Durga idol immersion.
Although the cyclonic circulation developed over the Bay of Bengal has already caused rains and thunderstorms in parts of the State, it would form into a low pressure in next two days.
If the cyclonic circulation develops into a low pressure by September 27, heavy rains would spoil the Dussehra celebrations, especially on September 28, 29 and 30, said the weather forecast.
