Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Odisha in the next 24 hours.
As per the latest bulletin issued by its regional centre here, a low pressure was formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation.
The IMD has predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places in the next 24 hours in the north and south Odisha.
It has also warned fishermen not to venture into the sea in the concerned parts of the state as strong and gusty winds with a speed ranging from 45-50 kmph to 60 kmph will prevail along and off the coast.
The sea condition is also likely to be rough in the next 24 hours, it added.
