Baghpat: An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft with three on-board persons crashed in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. Reportedly, the three persons including the pilots ejected safely.
According to reports, the aircraft, a Slovenian Pipistrel light which was used for observational purposes, crashed at Baghpat after it took off from Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad today morning.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the incident, an official informed.
Notably, on September 4, an IAF plane MiG-27 Fighter Jet crashed in a field in Dewliya village near Banad in Jodhpur, Rajasthan due to a technical snag.
Earlier, a MiG-21 fighter plane had crashed in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra in June 2018 in which the pilot died.
Similarly, another IAF MiG-27 fighter plane’s tyre burst while landing after which it got stuck on the runway at Jodhpur airport in November 2017.
