Houses of 6 families razed in a massive fire in Bhadrak village

Bhadrak: Houses of at least six families were reduced to ashes in a massive fire, which broke out at Khadimara village under Dhusuri police limits in Dhamanagar block of Bhadrak district on Sunday night. Though three women sustained burnt injuries, no loss of life was reported.

The ill-fated houses belonged to Tapan Panda, Dharmendra Panda, Debendra Panda, Jitendra Panda, Pruthiraj Panda, and Govinda Panda.

According to the sources, the fire erupted from a house late last night and engulfed the neighbouring houses in a few minutes.

On being informed, Dhamanagar fire brigade reached the spot and doused the flames. But by then, household assets like furniture, electronic goods, and vehicles worth lakhs were reduced to cinders.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
