Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police on Sunday have chalked out an elaborate plan for security during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit and stay here on April 15 and 16.
Commissioner of Police YB Khurania informed that around 300 officers and 70 platoons of armed police would be deployed for the security and traffic arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit.
Khurania said that elaborate plans will be made for the PM’s visit with special focus on security at the airport, the Raj Bhavan and meeting venue at Janata Maidan.
As per sources, at the venue of BJP national executive meeting at the Janata Maidan, the police have sealed the place, where there is now only one entry point. The workers engaged there for preparing the meeting venue are being thoroughly checked before being allowed entry into the site. Security has been beefed up by deploying additional forces at the airport and the Raj Bhavan.
It may be noted here that Modi is scheduled to attend the BJP national executive body meeting to be held here for two days from April 15 along with other ministers including LK Advani and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States.
