Puri: Scores of tourists were left stranded at the Grand Road in Odisha’s Puri as it was submerged under water after heavy rains on Sunday.
As today is a holiday, hundreds of tourists, including from neighbouring states, were on visit to the pilgrim city to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, but they were left stranded at different locations of the city due to massive water-logging.
According to reports, water above 2 feet was flowing on the famous Grand Road in the pilgrim city leaving hundreds of tourists stranded.
Vehicular movement was also disrupted due to the water-logging.
The stretch from Market Square to Medical Square was completely submerged due to heavy rains. Water also entered into engines of several vehicles parked at Grand Road.
Rain water also entered into several stalls and restaurants causing problem for many people.
Hospital Chowk, Balagandi and Mausima Temple were the major spots where water-logging was reported from.
