Bhubaneswar: After heavy rainfall lash for several days, most parts of Odisha experienced a comparatively dry day today even as heavy rainfall was forecast in some areas tomorrow.
While no rainfall was recorded in Bhubaneswar and nearby places, including Cuttack, during the day, Malkangiri registered 22 mm rainfall, the highest in the state for the day, the MeT office said.
However, the IMD has forecast heavy rain at one or two places over north Odisha during the next 48 hours.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to hit many places over the state during the next 24 hours, the MeT office said.
The sky is likely to remain cloudy with likelihood of rain and thundershower in Bhubaneswar and neighbourhood in next 48 hours, while gusty surface wind with a speed of 35 to 45 kmph is expected to occur along and off Odisha coast, it said.
The MeT office also advised fishermen to be cautions while venturing into the sea.
