Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Monday said that the heat wave would further intensify in the state from April 20.
Bhubaneswar Met department Director Sarat Chandra Sahu said that the temperature will increase will increase by another 2 to 3 degrees from April 20. Though some place receive thunderstorm or hailstorms, the heat wave will continue in parts of the state. About all the parts of the state recorded very high degrees of temperature and Bhawanipatna recorded the highest at 43.5 degree celcius. Bolangir recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree celcius, while Malkangiri, Titlagarh and Sundargarh recorded 42.8, 42.6 and 41.6 degrees respectively.
However, temperature dropped marginally at the coastal areas following rain and prediction of more shower under the impact of cyclone Maarutha .
AS per sources, more rains are likely to be occurred in the adjoining interiors of Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Kalahandi during the next 24 hours underthe influence of cyclone Maarutha.
