Amritsar: Over 40 nations plan to fight against terrorism and boost inter regional connectivity while Pakistan’s Sartaz Aziz has indicated openness for talks. The two day multilateral global summit Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process conference began in Amritsar on Saturday with a focus on tackling the threat of terrorism in the region.
The conference concluded on Sunday. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and his Afghan counterpart Hekmat Karzai announced the adoption of anti-terror resolution by the 6th ministerial meet.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday agreed to strengthen India-Afghan bilateral trade agreement by adding one billion US dollar for bilateral cooperation.
Today, senior officials of all 14 countries, including India, China, Russia, Iran and Pakistan, and representatives of 17 supporting nations were deliberating on a vast range of issues facing the region including its complex security scenario and dealing with threat of terrorism.
