Haryana CM ML Khattar should resign: BJD
Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday demanded resignation of Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, holding him responsible for the mayhem following the conviction of Dera Sachha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh by the Panchkula CBI Court on Friday in a rape case.
Party spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said, “Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar is fully responsible for the violence. So he must step down”.
“The Haryana CM should take moral responsibility and step down in view of the 31 deaths in the violence,” Deb added.
However, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that he was pained by the loss of lives in the violence in Haryana and appealed for peace.
Meanwhile, the security in the Dera Sacha Sauda Ashram in Puri was beefed up on Saturday and additional police force was deployed to ward off any untoward incident.
