Cuttack: A GRP woman police constable has complained attempt to rape allegations against her two senior officers.
Police lodged the case under sections 376, 511, 506, 294 and 34 of IPC on basis of the complaint filed by the woman police constable.
The woman constable alleged two GRP personnel — Reserve Inspector and Assistant Armourer — of trying to rape her in her house on Saturday midnight.
According to reports, when the woman constable was sleeping at her house, Reserve Inspector Ashok Kumar Sethy and Assistant Armourer Arabinda Mallick knocked at her door at around 1 am on Saturday. After she opened the door, they barged into the room and attempted to rape her. When she shouted, both threatened to kill her and fled the spot.
The victim lodged the complaint with GRP in Cuttack against her two officers.
The GRP has handed over the case to two women police officers for probe.
The probe team visited the victim’s house on Sunday and found injury mark on her body and seized her clothes that were torn up during the incident.
“A case has been registered against two GRP officers for allegedly trying to rape the woman constable and probe is on,” said Cuttack railway SP Sanjay Koushal.
