Growth of individuals impossible without Hindi language: Vice President
New Delhi: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday taking the privilege to promote Hindi on the occasion of ‘Hindi Diwas’ said, “it is impossible for an individual to grow without knowing the Hindi language”.
Gracing the Hindi Diwas function organised annually by the Union Home Ministry, the vice president felicitated officials and writers who have worked towards promoting the Hindi language.
Addressing the event, Naidu said Hindi was the main communication language among the freedom fighters of the country and it was spoken and understood by most of the people in the country.
He said, “There should be more translation into Hindi, so that all can access the literature of all Indian languages easily. Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and there are many regional languages which are very vibrant.”
He further said that language is the only way which can communicate the role in the implementation of government welfare schemes in the country. The citizens can only be benefited if, the schemes will be understandable to them. For this, it is important that the government works are done in people’s language.
“If we desire that our democracy continues to be progressive and becomes stronger, then we will have to use Hindi in the functioning of the Union government and the regional languages in the functioning of the state governments. Every state has immense contribution in Hindi getting the present status,” he said.
In his speech, home minister Rajnath Singh conveyed his greetings to Hindi aficionados.
“Language is not only an expression of cultural heritage but also national pride. We should all commit ourselves on the occasion of Hindi Divas to promote Hindi as well as other Indian languages. This will strengthen the country,” he said.
