California: Google is celebrating its 19th birthday today and the company has marked the occasion with an epic new doodle.
The spinning wheel occupying the most famous website on the planet serves up one of 19 different surprises when you click on it. This might include a special animation or an interactive game dreamed up by the company’s doodlers.
Each one represents a year of the company’s history.
In 1997, one of Google’s co-founders, Larry Page, had just arrived at Stanford University to pursue his PhD in computer science,” reminisces the company on its official page.
Point your browser (mobile or desktop) to Google Search and you be greeted with a party spread complete with a birthday cake, party hats and balloons shaped in the letters of the ‘Google’ alphabets.
Getting your attention is a spinning wheel that Google calls it the ‘surprise spinner’. As with all things spinning expect to waste even more time trying to discover the surprise behind each and every segment of the wheel.
