Kendrapara: Gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito was on Monday sent to Barimul jail in Kendrapara district after his three-day remand period came to an end.
The special task force of the Crime Branch produced the gangster in the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court after completion of his three days remand period on Monday.
The CB is reportedly gathering more evidence against Tito to keep him more days in jail. The STF has been questioning political leaders, middlemen and other criminals who have links with the gangster.
The STF had arrested Tito following an encounter on June 30. Later, the CB produced him before SDJM court and took him on 12 days remand in three phases. During questioning, the STF has elicited vital information about the criminal empire of the gangster and his properties.
The STF also issued notices to many persons for their links with the criminal. Besides, STF officials had interrogated Tito’s wife Benazir Bibi at her residence at Dilarpur for one and a half hour over possession of firms, petrol pumps and a luxurious car by her.
The STF produced him in the SDJM court today as per the earlier direction. As the sleuths did not seek further remand of the gangster, the court sent him to jail.
A day earlier, the CB had arrested two sharpshooters of Tito, Sk Sayed and Babula Pati.
