Bhubaneswar: Protesting the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG gas across the country, the Odisha unit of Congress will observe a six-hour ‘Chaka Jam’ agitation in the twin city tomorrow, on June 4.
The party leaders have urged the residents of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack not to use their vehicles on Monday from 6 am to 12 pm.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas are increasing day-by-day and urged the Centre to cut the prices.
“The Odisha government also can reduce the fuel price by cutting the VAT, but is not doing so. Consequently, the general customers are suffering. We will strongly protest it,” Patnaik said.
As part of the protest, a torch rally will be organized in Bhubaneswar tomorrow evening to urge people to cooperate during the six-hour protest.
