Bhubaneswar: Adding one more feature to the aviation part of the state, the flight service from Odisha capital Bhubaneswar to steel city Rourkela will begin from September this year. In a recent statement, the Airport Authority of India has made the declaration.
As such, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) signed MoU with the state government under which the connectivity between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar will start under UDAN program of central government.
The maximum airfare will be Rs. 2500. As per sources, at present the airstrip modernization is underway in Rourkela and it will be completed in next two to three months.
As official sources at Bhubaneswar Airport, the provision has been made keeping in view the rising demand of flight operation between Rourkela-Bhubaneswar and Rourkela-Kolkata.
Recently a six-member team from AAI had visited Rourkela strip and gave the nod for flight operation to Rourkela from Bhubaneswar.
