Cuttack: The first phase of Budget session in Odisha Legislative Assembly concluded today. It was conducted from February 22. The next phase will begin from March 14.
While issues like PM Modi’s remark on Odisha being a poor state; farmer’s issues and Narasingha Mishra’s car’s wrong placement of National flag led to uproar in the Assembly on most of the session days, on Saturday there was discussion on the farmer death issue in Bargarh.
The food and civil supplies minister Sanjay Das Burma spoke about the facilities provided to farmers while agriculture minister Pradeep Maharathy said that the probe into Bargarh farmer Khainu Bagarti showed that he drank pesticide following an argument in the family and not because of loan issues.
However, BJP members criticised the minister and said BJD government is not bothered about farmers’ issues.
