Mumbai: A fire reportedly broke out on the sets of dance reality show ‘Super Dancer’ at the RK Studio in Chembur sending out plumes of black smoke into the air today afternoon.
According to initial reports, the fire was said to be confined to electric wiring, electric installations, and decoration equipment in 100×80 sq ft area on the ground floor of the structure.
PS Rahangdale, the chief of the Mumbai fire brigade, said that the fire was called in at 2.22 pm. Firefighters arrived on the spot at 2.37 pm. No injuries have been reported so far.
After an initial assessment, the fire brigade called it in as a level 2 fire at 3.04 pm.
Two small hose lines of six fire engines are currently working to douse the fire. According to officials, five water tankers and twelve ambulances are also pressed into service.
The cause of the fire will be ascertained after a proper inquiry, said another official.
The RK studio, based on VN Purav Marg in Chembur, houses the logistics of the RK Films production company, both established by and named after Bollywood actor, producer, and director Raj Kapoor.
