New Delhi: A face-off befitting the tournament’s stature will kick off the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the capital here tomorrow.
India’s first-ever FIFA tournament kicks off with matches in Delhi and Mumbai. The host nation will take on USA at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Hosting the first FIFA World Cup ever, India would be home to the prodigal talent that makes international football fascinating and exhilarating in equal measure, this month.
India will become the fifth Asian country – after China, Japan, South Korea and UAE – to host the tournament which was started in 1985.
The FIFA U-17 world cup will be played between October 6 and October 28 in six different stadiums in India. There are a total of 52 matches that will be played between 24 teams in the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.
The FIFA world cup will be played in Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Goa and Kochi and the cities have all been prepped especially for this historic international event.
The FIFA under 17 World Cup begins with a face-off between Columbia and Ghana in and a match between Turkey and New Zealand. India will also be playing their first FIFA World Cup match on day 1 where they will be facing team USA.
