New Delhi: A shocking incident which created panic mode among the people and sent the most popular social media site Facebook jittery feelings mistakenly declared two million people including company CEO Mark Zuckerberg dead on Friday.
On Saturday the social network apologized for this incident and said it worked as quickly as possible to correct the problem. A technical bug entered the system which is responsible for the messy situation.
According to reports, some two million errant memorials were posted on profile pages.
For a brief period, a message meant for memorialized profiles was mistakenly posted to other accounts. This was a terrible error that we have fixed, a Facebook spokeperson said.
The mistaken memorial notices contained links to form that can be submitted to have people’s accounts at the leading social network modified into online memorial after their death.
