Srinagar: Adding to the series of encounters this year, seven more terrorists were gunned down in Jammu and Kashmir, yesterday. According to reports, six infiltrator—three each at Warnow and Drugmulla area—were encountered by the military and state police and another ultra was killed in Wader Forest.
According to reports, getting a tip-off on a suspected hideout of terrorists at Warnow village in Lolab area, a joint team of Indian Army and state police headed towards the spot. As the group of terrorists were heavily armed, they started indiscriminate firing at security forces. In retaliation to the ultras, security men gunned down three on the spot.
Another fierce encounter between the Indian Army and Infiltrators erupted at Lolab area a few hours later. As security personnel approached a group of terrorists holed up in Drugmulla area near Kupwara town, they tried to escape by covering up with heavy firing. But three of them were struck by bullets on the spot. A heap of arms and ammunitions were recovered from the hideout of Drugmulla.
The third encounter in a row was occurred at in Wader forest area of Rajwar. As army men encircled a meeting venue of a group of infiltrators they started retaliatory firing and so far one terrorist has been gunned down, say sources. The final report has been awaited as the gunfight continues.
