Bhubaneswar: Commuters between the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar can heave a sigh of relief with the much awaited three lane bridge over the Kathajodi river scheduled to be commissioned in March next year.
Roads and Building Division Executive Engineer said that the construction work is in full swing and almost 90 percent work have already been completed. He said all the pillars of the 2.88 km long bridge and laying of slabs is almost complete. Only the approach roads on both the sides of the bridge is to be completed.
With the budget of Rs 106 crore, the bridge was planned keeping in view the growing population of the Twin City and the need for adequate infrastructure. The bridge connecting Belleview Point near Judicial Academy in Cuttack to Trisulia after completion would be the longest and first of its kind three-lane bridge in the state and would act as direct link between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
