Bhubaneswar: Newly appointed Odisha DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma today called on Governor SC Jamir and met him at the Raj Bhawan here and discussed regarding the improvement of law and order situation in the state.
Sharma, a 1986-batch IPS officer, was appointed as the police chief on Wednesday. He took over from the incumbent KB Singh on Thursday at police headquarters in Cuttack. Prior to that, he had served as Commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack police from August 2013 to January 2016.
Speaking to mediapersons, Sharma said he would try his best to bring transparency and transformation in work of the police department. Stating that the 3Ts (transparency, technology and team work) formula of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is also equally applicable to police, Sharma said the police should adopt latest technology to counter the hi-tech criminals. “We will look forward towards effective use of technology to deal with crime and provide continuous training programmes for skill development of the officials,” he said.
