New Delhi: The opposition political parties collectively on Wednesday called for a nationwide Bharat Bandh on November 28 over demonetisation drive.
That day will be observed as “Aakrosh Divas” said opposition members.
While the proceedings in both house of Parliament have been disrupted every day during the winter season, the opposition parties have now called for Bharat Bandh strike across India to protest for 70 people allegedly died due to jostling and long hours of standing in queues during the exchange, deposit and withdrawal of demonetised currency.
Earlier, 200 leaders of various opposition parties had staged protest outside the Parliament before the Gandhi statue. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also staged a protest alongwith other politcians that included Samajwadi Party member and veteran actress Jaya Bachchan at Jantar Mantar today.
