Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged Odisha police to deliver justice to poor people of the society and provide people-friendly service while inaugurating the 83rd Odisha police foundation day in Cuttack on Sunday.
“Proactive steps should be taken to make the women cells at SP offices,” the CM said expressing concern over the crimes against women.
Child and women desks at different police stations should work more actively and the inspectors should also lay special emphasis to activate the reception desks at police stations across the state, he added.
The government has plans to set up more cyber police stations in different districts of the state to tackle the rising financial and cyber crimes in the state.
As many as 100 police officers of different ranks including Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi, Mangalabag police station inspector-in-charge Arun Kumar Swain, Mitrendra Nath Sinha were facilitated by Naveen for rendering outstanding services.
Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma and other senior police officers were present.
