Puri: A spotted male deer was rescued by forest officials from Mundala village under Brahmagiri forest range of Puri district on Tuesday evening.
As per sources, a dear had entered the human habitat and spotted by locals, following which they informed the forest department.
Getting information about the animal, a team led by Brahmagiri forester Debaraj Jali rushed to the spot and rescued the animal. The animal was brought it to the Range office and was later released in the Balukhanda Sanctuary.
“Our office got a last evening about the strayed deer and we immediately rushed to the village. When we reached there we found that the villagers had already caught hold of the animal and were waiting to hand it over to us. It was a male deer and there was no injury mark on the body, said Debaraj Jali
