Tirtol: The body of an unidentified woman with ropes around her neck and waist was recovered from a big locked tin box discarded in Dharangagada forest under Tirol police limits in Raghunathpur block of Jagatsinghpur district on Friday.
The box was spotted by a forest range officer, Rajendra Samantray who informed the IIC on Thursday who seized the box immediately. The box was opened in the presence of a magistrate on Friday morning.
Being informed, Tirtol police rushed to the Dharangagada forest accompanied by the scientific team.
SDPO, Tirtol Siba Charan Malick informed that the body of a young unidentified woman found in the forest seems to be of 25-30 years of age. He said that it may be a case of murder as ropes were tied around her neck and waist. The accused must have dumped the body here after killing the woman.
However, the real identity of the victim and the cause behind the crime can be known only after proper investigation.
