Malkangiri: As part of the ongoing special drive against corrupt practices in rural housing schemes, Vigilance officers conducted a secret enquiry about probable assets of Malkangiri district’s Mathili Panchayat Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Moharana and found assets worth Rs 78,28,147 disproportionate to his sources possessed by him.
After obtaining a court warrant, the officers conducted simultaneous searches on Moharana’s residential building at Hi-Tech Colony, double-storied building at Gondiaguda and office room at Mathili, all at Malkangiri.
Moharana had started his service carrier as a VLW in 1990, informed an official release.
The detected assets include two double-storied buildings worth Rs 64,00,000, three plots at Malkangiri and Jeypore woth Rs 4,03,125, household articles of Rs 4,29,000, motor vehicles of Rs 2,30,000, bank deposits of Rs 69, 238, gold and silver ornaments of Rs 1, 94, 784 and hard cash of Rs 78, 28, 147.
The bank accounts were still under scrutiny, said the release.
