Cuttack: Cyber Crime Police station and Cyber Forensic Lab would be set up in state capital very soon, said Additional DG crime, BK Sharma on Saturday.
While inaugurating the state level special training programme on cyber crime Sharma said after demonetisation the central government has given priority to cashless facility and e-payment, for which there is a need to be aware and careful of cyber crime activities. Keeping this in view the state government has already decided to set up another cyber police station in Bhubaneswar.
In the state forensic lab, the DNA facility has already been set up, but there is no cyber forensic lab to support the cyber crime investigation cell. So very soon this lab will be set up in Bhubaneswar, he informed.
Senior police officers from around 32 districts attended the meeting while officials of ICICI bank from Kolkata also interacted with policemen regarding possible cyber crime threats to digital banking.
