Bhubaneswar: After creating havoc in Cuttack, Jaundice has now tightened its grip in smart city Bhubaneswar. On completion of medical examination of samples, around 35 positive cases were found from Mundasahi in the city on Wednesday.
The condition being worsening Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena along with Sanitary Inspector, City Health Officer, Public Health Department officials, Anganwadi workers and other Self Help Groups has reviewed the situation in the area.
Locals of the area citing various reasons including consumption of water from pipe or from the existing around 12 wells, claim to be the reasons for the disease.
Mayor along with his team after reviewing have decided to bury all the wells present in the area. He also said that doctors would be appointed to stay in the area all through the day for treatment of the same. Further, awareness towards prevention of the disease would be made in a door to door basis.
The area Corporator Nihar Ranjan Samal was also seen to distribute leaflets in creating awareness among the people of the disease.
