Sundargarh: Vigilance officials raided houses of Ramesh Patel, senior clerk in the Sundargarh Government Women’s College, this morning on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Three Vigilance teams conducted the raids following issuance of a search warrant by Sundargarh Special Vigilance Judge and unearthed property worth around Rs 1,12,74,978
Raids were conducted simultaneously at his residence at Nuapada, an ancestral house at Kudabega and in-laws’ house at Jharakani in the district.
A press release issued by the anti-corruption wing revealed that a three-storey building at Sudargarh town of Rs 73,28,000, household articles worth around 5,30,279, Rs 1,18,765 in cash was seized.
Similarly, Rs 15,52,472 deposits at different banks and post offices and Rs 2,06,901 LIC premium deposit was found.
Gold and silver ornaments of Rs 1,45,729, a four-wheeler of Rs 6,01,832, a tractor of Rs 7,50,000 and a bike of worth 41,000 were seized.
