Bhubaneswar: With the constant visits of Congress leaders in separate groups to Rahul Gandhi in Delhi, the differences between party members are an open secret. On Saturday, another team of Congress MLAs met leaders in Delhi.
The MLAs include Jacob Pradhan from G Udaygiri, Kailashchandra Kulesika from Lakshmipur, Krushnachandra Sagaria from Koraput and Bhujbal Majhi of Dabugaon. Congress Odisha incharge B K Hariprasad said that the MLA team met the Delhi leaders regarding the upcoming Panchayat elections, specially to discuss the poll strategy with the Congress SCST leaders. He informed that the MLAs met party vice president Rahul to discuss the election preparations.
However, the political fraternity is viewing the meeting from a different angle. Speculations are making round that while the Odisha Congress MLAs have been revolting against state party president Prasad Harichandan, now a part of the MLA group has deviated and now supporting Prasad.
The district presidents of the party earlier invited by Prasad to Delhi for meeting Rahul included Kandhamal district president Jacob Pradhan whereas Jharsuguda, Kendrapada and Cuttack district presidents MLA Naba Das, Debendra Sharma and Prakash Behera had missed the meeting.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader and Congress MLA group leader Narasingha Mishra had said that MLAs will prepare for Panchayat elections under Sonia Gandhi’s leadership.
