Compensation for wild animal attack deaths hiked in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today increased the compensation for wild animal attack from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.

Addressing a function on the occasion of ‘State Level Wildlife Week’ here at Jaydev Bhawan, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that his government has decided to enhance the compensation amount to Rs 4 lakh in case of deaths due to wild animal attacks.

Besides, compensation has also been increased for the deaths of sheep and goats in wild animal attack, he added.

While compensation amount for deaths of sheep, goats has increased to Rs 2,000, for lamb death in wild animal attacks it stood at Rs 750.
