Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissionerate Police held a preparatory meeting to make the upcoming Durga Puja festivities hassle free.
While 25 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar, 54 platoons of police will be in place to ensure security in Cuttack during the festival, said Commissioner YB Khurania after the meeting.
“Elaborate security arrangements will be made for vehicular traffic management and to maintain law and order situation during the Durga Puja and idol immersion,” Khurania said.
Undercover police personnel, Quick Action Team (QAT), ODRAF teams will also be in place to avoid any untoward situation. Besides, two platoons of SOGs in Cuttack and one platoon in Bhubaneswar will be deployed as a precautionary major to avert terrorists, the Commissionerate police informed and added two platoons of CRPF will also keep vigil.
The police have taken measures to book notorious criminals and detain them under the National Security Act (NSA) as a precautionary measure to prevent any unpleasant situation during the festive period.
