Bhubaneswar: CM Naveen Patnaik always wins over his voters with populist schemes just before major elections. After the Re 1 kg rice and 1 percent interest education loan, today he announced subsidies on loans for women SHGs. The interest rate for loans upto Rs 3 lakh will be only 1 percent for women SHGs, he announced at a public meeting in Keonjhar during his visit to the district on the concluding day of BJD’s Janasampark Padayatra.
CM Patnaik was on a daylong visit to Keonjhar and Jajpur for launch of several projects as well as connecting with rural voters before the ensuing panchayat elections. While he addressed a public meeting at the Jaraka Mahotsav ground under the Dharmasala constituency of Jajpur, Patnaik laid the foundation stone for a Rs 301 crore medical college in Keonjhar. He also launched a series of other projects worth Rs 26 crores.
The CM also declared that his fight will continue in the Mahanadi water dispute and the Odisha public will never be deprived of the Mahanadi waters. He also said that Odisha is charting a new development path from villages to cities.
