Bhubaneswar: While celebrating Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti in the city on Friday, Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik has made an essential announcement which states that permanent caste certificates to SC, ST and socially and educationally backward classes (SEBCs) students will be given from the school in Class V. He also launched the Virtual Academy and announced `three crore for Odia chair in JNU.
Addressing at the venue, he said that by providing permanent certificates, around 20 lakh SC/ST/OBC students will be befitted. Similarly, he said that the virtual academy will help to spread Odia art, literature and culture in the world.
Further, Pattnaik has directed that the certificate distribution process to the eligible students should be completed by the end of the current financial year.
To make the process function, Pattnaik said that the welfare communities and district education officials would take the charge of collecting the filled-up forms by the students from various schools under their province. Further, they would deposit the collected forms at the specified Tehsil office. The Tehsildars after scrutinizing the forms will allot certificate to the eligible students. The headmasters of the respective students will then take the charge of distributing the certificates.
Later, Pattnaik also said that the certificates will be digitized, so that if the certificates is misplaced , the same can be obtained from the saved soft copy of the same.
